Placencia Humane Society

Placencia Humane Society is a volunteer-run, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and cats on the Placencia Peninsula and nearby areas. Since 1999, they have offered monthly veterinary clinics (typically on the third Saturday of each month), where they provide services including spaying and neutering, vaccinations, basic treatments, and microchipping. Outreach visits to nearby villages are held on the third Friday of each month.

All operations are supported through donations and community volunteers. Their programs include rescue, foster, and adoption services, a feral cat trap-neuter-release initiative, and emergency assistance when needed. The organization funds its activities through clinic fees, merchandise sales, and fundraising events like their annual “Chip Inn & Salsa” fundraiser .
