The Destination Belize Magazine is the official visitor's guide for Belize, and is a Marketing project of the Belize Tourism Industry Association. The 2009 edition is the 15th edition published for BTIA by Ulrich Communications, with input from our members, the board of directors, and industry partners.
The cover of the 2009 edition features a beautiful Garifuna woman at its center, in a pose suggesting that Belize is still "Mother Nature's Best Kept Secret". Cultural diversity is one of Belize's strongest attributes, and her face was chosen for the cover to represent the friendliness and hospitality of the Belizean people.
The "Belize" logo and tagline as the header is consistent with our country's brand image established for Belize over ten years ago. Also depicted on the cover are images that showcase Belize's diversity, including the Maya civilization, the Great Blue Hole, adventure activity and nature, all on a sandy backdrop depicting our many cayes.
The layout inside also reflects a new appearance, with a fold out Belize country map, new editorial sidebars and new photos. This version of the magazine is available in both the traditional soft cover for general distribution, and hard cover for hotel in-room use.
This initiative is developed in partnership with the Belize Tourism Board (BTB). The BTB has for years supported the magazine, and BTIA appreciates their continued support in purchasing additional prints for further distribution at tradeshows and in using the magazine to fulfill information requests from potential tourists. The 2010 version of the magazine is currently in production, and should be available shortly. An online version is also planned, and will be accessible at this link.
